As a daycare provider that has been in business for over 10 years and raising 5 children of my own, I understand the need for quality care. Recently, I have had a few conversations surrounding babysitting services. By babysitter we are talking about specific situations where childcare is needed for a few hours at a time and not a routine occurrence. Outside of having a daycare that you can trust while knowing your child is getting the best care, what happens in those one-time instances?

Quality childcare is in short supply right now as holiday party invitations, dinners with the boss, and cocktail socials abound. ‘Tis the season, after all. But for most parents with young children, these events also create a special stress that comes with trying to make child care arrangements, and not having to worry all evening about their safety and welfare. I hope this site helps all of you that are searching for additional help. You can find tips to consider when choosing a babysitter.

As a protective mother I found it difficult to allow just anyone to care for my children. Often times, family or very close friends were the only outlets I felt comfortable with. I later realized that interviewing for a babysitter was very appropriate and needed. Don’t feel silly when it comes to your children: get references and ask questions.

Please feel free to share your experiences of finding a daycare or babysitter.
